About the WIBC

Founded in 2007/2008 by Sandra Tisiot and Eastern Ontario Women in Finance, the Women in Business Conference (WIBC) has established itself as the premiere must-attend conference for women in Ottawa.

With sold-out crowds of over 500 participants this conference is dedicated to the working women from all careers and life stages. The conference is grounded on four key pillars: Connect, Celebrate, Inspire and Learn. It’s about giving women a special and unique day. Initially geared toward women in business from the financial services, it has become much more than that, opening its door to entrepreneurs, executives and professionals, as well as government personnel.

Our aim is to bring inspiring recognized or newly emerging speakers and their stories to the stage, to motivate, teach, and fill minds on an array of topics in business, finance, and marketing to mind, body and spirit. The overwhelming feedback has been that if you can only do one event, this conference is it.

Since inception, the WIBC has remained fiercely committed to its four key pillars – Connect, Celebrate, Inspire and Learn. And in doing so, this gathering has also become a respite for women who all work so hard for their success, it’s an opportunity to recharge, revitalize and hit the reset button in both their personal and professional lives.

Each year the conference gives back to the community by contributing to a local charity and for the last 10 years has supported the Suits-Me program, an initiative of the Women’s Mental Health Program at The Royal.

Sandra Tisiot has hosted for the past 11 years and has worked the stage effortlessly. The 2020 production will see a new host as Sandra hands over the reins to the Women’s Business Network. The day includes a sold-out tradeshow, plus tremendous corporate and sponsorship support. It is a day of contagious energy leaving all those who attend invigorated once again.
